Really enjoyed your paper - the feedback given to university students is often tied to rubric and tick box approach - giving the personal and specific feedback you suggest takes time - the consensus among has been that students don’t read their feedback and just want their mark - this is the complexity of the ‘system’ - would be great to read about the dynamics between the learner, the marker and the ‘system’ - thank you again for your excellent writing on AI.

Agree one hundred percent, but I would also add one thing (which AI also lacks on its own), which is that writing also comes alive when students have something they want to say - so somewhere in all the cognitive science based steps, students need to develop a desire to say something. And I believe that the most effective desire comes out of real realtionships with other people - the kind that are forged in a classroom structured as you describe, with both faculty and peers.
